    About our Program

Our Agriculture Program allows students to learn and grow in a diverse environment with opportunity for personal growth and achievement in and outside the classroom.

The program does this through a 3 prong data driven approach:

    • Classroom and laboratory
    • FFA – Professional Intra-Curricular Organization – All Agriculture students are members of the FFA
    • SAE – Supervised Agriculture Experience – Students complete an ongoing project within the realms of Entrepreneurship, Research or Occupational experience.

    FFA Mission

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

The official name of the organization is the National FFA Organization.

The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America. These letters are a part of our history and our heritage that will never change. But FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. For this reason, the name of the organization was updated in 1988 after a vote of national convention delegates to reflect the growing diversity and new opportunities in the industry of agriculture.

Today, the National FFA Organization remains committed to the individual student, providing a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

About me:

I grew up raising my own cattle in Ohio where I went on to earn my degree from The Ohio State University. After teaching in farmland country I desired to move to one of the most beautiful places on Earth, which brought me to Mingo County. I am proud to claim these mountains, forests and waterways as my new home.

I encourage parents to contact me with questions, ideas, and support at craig.hart@k12.wv.us.

I am presently completing a Master’s in Education Program.
