    PE Expectations and Requirements

Students that participate in Physical Education/Health at Williamson PK8, are expected to do their best with each activity.  To do their best, students should come prepared for a successful day.

A successful day in PE/Health includes the following:

Students are dressed APPROPRIATELY and PER SCHOOL DRESS CODE for PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.  This includes having CLOSED TOE, ATHLETIC SHOES

    • Crocs, sandals, dress shoes are not only a potential safety hazard, but they can damage the gym floor.
    • We work on the floor, as a group, Monday-Thursday.  Fridays are designated as Fun Friday and students are allowed choices that may keep them off the floor and may not need to have CLOSED TOE, ATHLETIC SHOES.

Students are prepared to PARTICIPATE to the best of THEIR ability.

    •             Students are expected to try the activities planned for them.

Students are expected to let their instructors know why they were absent should they miss class.

    • They must come and speak to their teacher.  If they do not, their grade may not be adjusted in a timely manner.

Grades 6-8 also complete weekly journals that help track their work as they prepare for the FITNESSGRAM and Health/Social Emotional Learning lessons.

    •             They will need a journal and a pencil each day in class – just grades 6-8.
    •
    • These are a part of their grade in addition to their daily participation.  These journals should be kept in their school lockers so they can have them daily.  PE does not – DOES NOT – give homework.  There is no need for those journals to leave the building.

PE/Health/Wellness has their own standards we must try and hit throughout the school year and we try to find creative, fun, ways to address them.   Together, we will be successful!
