Mingo County Schools and Coalfield Community Action Partnership offer Universal PK for students in Mingo County.  The goal is to give children early education experiences that will enhance their growth, learning, and development for success in kindergarten and throughout life, while maximizing resources through collaboration.  All classrooms have an inclusive environment, ensuring that necessary supports and services are provided so that all children may participate.  The classrooms offer developmentally appropriate activities that address stages of each child's cognitive, physical, social/emotional, and cultural development.  Enrollment in the PK program is voluntary, but once enrolled, the child must follow Mingo County Schools' attendance policy.  Children must be 4-years old prior to July 1 and/or be 3-years old with an Individualized Education Plan.  The students will receive free lunch and comprehensive health services.  Children will attend full-day sessions, Monday through Thursday.
