🚨 Safety First on the Mountain! 🩵🖤 During Safety Week, Mingo Central Comprehensive High School welcomed emergency personnel and community partners for a safety meeting focused on reviewing our safety protocols, discussing potential outside threats, and conducting an active shooter drill. It was a great day of collaboration, preparation, and commitment to keeping our students and staff safe! We were grateful to have representatives from the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office, Mingo County 911 Dispatch, counseling services, Communities In Schools, technology, Mingo County Schools District Office Staff, Delbarton Fire Department, EMS, our custodial staff, our PRO, Chris Endicott, Brian Brown from Capitol Police, and our school administration join us for these important conversations. A huge thank-you to everyone who took time out of their day to help us strengthen our safety procedures and ensure we are prepared to protect our school community. We are also incredibly appreciative of Josh Endicott and our Law & Public Safety students for presenting during the meeting, and Dan Sizemore and our ProStart students for preparing lunch for our guests! One of the things we value most is giving our students a voice in their own safety. When our students can learn, lead, and contribute to meaningful conversations that impact their school, we know we are building something special. 🏥 WORLD-CLASS EDUCATION: HEALTHCARE ON THE MOUNTAIN! ⛰️ Mingo Central Comprehensive High School is excited to announce a new partnership with Williamson Health & Wellness Center to bring convenient healthcare services directly to our school! 📅 The clinic officially opens Wednesday, October 21! The clinic will be available every other Wednesday to serve both our students and staff. 💙 How will it work? 🩺 For Students: Students who are not feeling well should report to the school nurse first. The nurse will help coordinate the process with Williamson Health & Wellness Center. 👩‍🏫 For Staff: Staff members may visit the clinic during their planning period or lunch, just as they would for an off-campus appointment. If you are already a patient with Williamson Health & Wellness Center, your information should already be in their system. We are excited about this opportunity to make healthcare more accessible to our school community! By helping students and staff receive the care they need, we hope to support student wellness, reduce barriers to attendance, and keep our Miners healthy and ready to learn. Important Announcement: PSAT Testing for All Juniors – Wednesday, October 21

Mingo Central Comprehensive High School would like to remind all juniors that the PSAT will be administered on Wednesday, October 21. This test is required for ALL juniors, including virtual students.

Virtual juniors must report to Mingo Central no later than 7:30 a.m. on the morning of testing.

All students must bring their school-issued laptops fully charged for testing.

The PSAT is an important opportunity for students to prepare for the actual SAT. We encourage every student to take the test seriously and give their best effort. The results will help us identify students’ strengths and areas where additional support is needed so we can better prepare everyone for success on the SAT.

Hello, this is Mingo Central Comprehensive High School with an important reminder about our Open House this Thursday, August 20th, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. Freshmen can pick up their schedules and tour the building to get familiar with Mingo Central. Upperclassmen can pick up their schedules, sign up for college and dual credit classes, and participate in activities. We will also have community partners on hand to provide valuable resources for our students and parents. We look forward to seeing all of our Miners and families this Thursday from 5:00 to 6:30 PM.
