  • Sean Patrick McGinley Memorial Scholarship

    DiPiero Simmons McGinley & Bastress, PLLC, a personal injury law firm in Charleston, is offering scholarships and dedicating them to the memory of Sean Patrick McGinley, who we unexpectedly lost in 2021. Sean McGinley was more than a dear friend and colleague to all of us. He was a skilled attorney and litigator, loving father and husband, and faithful benefactor and advocate of the local community here in Charleston, West Virginia.

    Sean believed in doing everything he could to provide his services to the local community and its youth. In his honor, we will be offering a total of three $1,000 scholarships to recent high school graduates who reside in West Virginia and are planning to attend college or university starting in Fall 2022.

    The scholarship requirements include writing a 500+ word essay on a unique topic.


    The deadline for applying is August 5th, 2024. To apply, students must have graduated or will graduate from a high school in West Virginia during 2024 as well as live in West Virginia.

    The Bachus & Schanker 7th Amendment Scholarship provides $2,000 semiannual scholarships to high school seniors and current college students. Applicants must write an essay about their opinion on the importance and efficacy of the 7th Amendment. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. The deadline for applying is July 30, 2024.   • The Cameron Impact Scholarship

    The Cameron Impact Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition undergraduate scholarship awarded annually to 10-15 exceptional high school students who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, community service, extracurricular activities, and academics. Applicants must be planning to enroll in a full-time course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year U.S. college or university for the full academic year following high school graduation, excel in a broad variety of extracurricular activities, demonstrate active participation in community service, and have a minimum GPA of 3.7.     In response to this pressing challenge, Drug Rehab USA is proud to introduce the Mental Health Scholarship, a $2,000 award designed to support aspiring mental health professionals dedicated to making a positive impact on individuals and communities. We believe in the transformative power of education and recognize the profound influence that mental health professionals can have on societal well-being.

    About The Mental Health Scholarship


    --> Open to students enrolled in any mental health degree program, including psychology, counseling, social work, psychiatric nursing, and related fields.

    Applicants must be committed to making a difference in the mental health field and demonstrate a passion for improving the lives of others.

    Applicants must have an @.edu email to enter.

    Application Process:

    • Submit a compelling piece of content (essay, video, artwork, or any creative medium) explaining why you are pursuing a mental health degree and outlining the positive impact you aspire to make.
    • Essays should be between 500-800 words, and videos should not exceed 5 minutes.
    • Express your passion creatively and authentically.
    • Clearly address why you chose a mental health degree and how you envision contributing to the field.
    • Must be a current student at any University in the United States, using your student email for eligibility.
    • Selection Criteria: A panel of mental health professionals and educators will evaluate submissions based on clarity of purpose, impactful vision, creativity and originality, and a genuine passion for mental health.

    Important Details:

    • All submissions must be received by Jan 1st, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.
    • The selected recipient will be awarded $2,000 to support their education and journey toward becoming a mental health professional.

  • Underwood Smith Teaching Scholars Scholarship

    The Underwood-Smith Teaching Scholars Program is a competitive scholarship for recent high school graduates with a passion for teaching and a history of high academic achievement, community service, and active involvement in extracurricular activities while in high school. Recipients will receive $10,000 per year for up to four years (up to the cost of tuition and fees, room and board, and other approved educational expenses). In exchange, Underwood-Smith Teaching Scholars must agree to teach in a West Virginia public school in an area of critical need (math, science, elementary education or special education) for a period of five years after graduating from college.

    The scholarship may be used at any eligible West Virginia public or private, non-profit college or university offering West Virginia Board of Education-approved teacher preparation programs in math, science, elementary education, or special education. Each year, we will accept up to 25 new Underwood-Smith Teaching Scholars from a national applicant pool.
