Ms. Alichia Marsico, HiSET Chief Examiner/Test Administrator, TEAS Examiner
Alichia Marsico is a National Board Certified Teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience in business education. She earned her teaching degree at the University of Kentucky, graduating with high distinction, and her master’s in business education from Morehead State University. Her teaching career began at Lenore Jr. High School in 1988 and she was transferred to Tug Valley High School the very next year. While there, she trained to become one of three TOC (Technology Opportunity Center) directors in Mingo County, teaching evening computer courses to community members.
Due to a reduction in force, Ms. Marsico was transferred to the Mingo County Career Center for the 2001-02 school year and has been there ever since; however, the school has gone through a number of name changes during that time and is now known as the Mingo Extended Learning Center. She taught secondary business classes until they were moved to Mingo County Comprehensive High School for the 2011-2012 school year, at which time she was transferred to the adult medical office program. During her time here, she earned the +45 hours beyond her masters, completed the Technology Integration Specialist training, and earned National Board Certified Teacher status. She has attended countless hours of professional development and has also been a trainer for the Mingo County Summer Teacher Academy twice. Upon retiring in May 2019, Ms. Marsico became the HSE test administrator and also administers the TEAS test for LPN applicants.
