Dr. Glen William Hartsoch

Thank you for visiting my page. I teach most history classes at Tug Valley High School, including all 10th grade United States Studies course and many of the 11th grade Contemporary Studies course, as well as Advanced Placement United States History (APUSH). I began my working career working mostly in the petro-chemicals industry in South Texas. I have been teaching for about two decades, mostly social studies. I began my teaching career in Corpus Christi, Texas, then taught in Houston. My plan is to stay with Tug Valley High School for the remainder of my career, long may it be. I began my collegiate experience at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, then transferred to the University of Houston where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Political Science, then I moved back to Corpus Christi and earned my Master of Business Administration in International Marketing. Since becoming a teacher, I have had the opportunity to earn a Master of Education in Gifted and Talented Education at the University of St. Thomas in Houston and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Cultural Studies from the University of Houston. I obviously love learning and love encouraging others to learn, especially American history, my passion.

My planning time: 7th period, 1:20-2:05.

Class Expectations: Class begins promptly when the bell rings with a video bell ringer activity. Students who miss this activity or are tardy can get a make-up worksheet from class and the LMS Blackboard. Class discussion usually involves a reflections sheet or similar activity. Make-ups for this activity are available in class and on the LMS Blackboard. Class usually concludes with a Study Island Activity or other activity for reinforcement. This structure may vary. Work is due per district make-up policies. Students are expected to participate in class and their learning in a positive way.
