Mr. Eric Starr

My name is Eric Starr and I am a proud Tug Valley alum who wants to see the school grow and for my students to succeed. I hold high expectations for both myself and each of my students in all their endeavors. The courses that I offer are Civics, Personal Finance, and Dual Credit U.S. History.

Some of my accomplishments throughout my career include:

- Oversaw fifty-eight students pass AP exams in AP Government, AP Human Geography, and AP World History

- Awarded Tug Valley High School's Teacher of the Year in 2018 and 2022

- Mingo County Teacher of the Year (2022)

- Having a 97% passage rate in seniors taking their mock citizenship exams since 2017

- Taking part in College Board's AP Reading in 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024.

I enjoy spending time with my wife/family/friends/dog (Gus), world travel, running, and video games.

My planning time: 7^th period, 1:25-2:10 PM.
