ProStart is a 2 year cirriculum developed by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.  It involves the study of the foundations of restaurant management and culinary arts.

ProStart is a part of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway at Tug Valley.  All CTE programs operate under a simulated workplace environment.  Each course of study is required to have a business with a board of directors and a company name.  The ProStart company is the "Tug Valley Yum Factory".  The Tug Valley Yum Factory was established in 2015 and continues to be a lucrative business.  The income from the company is used for educational field trips, supplies and equipment for the classroom. 

The YUM FACTORY has catered numerous events in the community, including wedding receptions, business dinners, civic organizational banquets, private parties and numerous school activities.
