Mrs. Kimberly Brown

Mrs. Kimberly Brown, a proud graduate of Tug Valley High School, now is equally proud to be a member of the school's Science Department as a TVHS faculty member.

Mrs. Brown was born and raised here in Mingo County. She is the daughter of former Tug Valley Science Teacher Carl Parsley Jr. and the granddaughter of long-time Mingo County teaching legend Jackie Parsley. In addition to being a proud TVHS alum, Mrs. Brown recieved her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from Bluefield State University. She also holds a Masters Degree in Sociology with a minor in Biological Science from Marshall University.

She has taught for West Virginia University and is an adjunct faculty member at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College.

Mrs. Brown returned to her alma mater here at Tug Valley in 2017 and now teaches Physics, Forensic Science and Environmental Science. She teaches Dual Credit courses in Sociology and Social Problems at the school in conjunction with Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College. She also serves as Head Soccer Coach here at Tug Valley High.

Mrs. Brown holds high expectations for her students and wishes to see each of our graduates go on to attend a college of their choice. Her planning and conference period is from 12:32 to 1:17 daily. Any parent wishing to meet with her should feel free to call the school and make an appointment during that time.

Mrs. Brown is happily married to local businessman Aaron Brown. She has three children, Alex, Karlie and Aaron Blake. Alex and Karlie are both currently enrolled here at Tug Valley High School.
